About the Author

Kate Bove

A Rotten Tomatoes-certified critic and active member of GALECA (The Society of LGBTQ Entertainment Critics), Kate writes about pop culture and reviews TV and movies for outlets such as Screen Rant and SFGATE. In 2022, she was nominated for an LA Press Club National Arts & Entertainment Journalism Award.

Based in the Bay Area, they have an MFA in Fiction from the University of San Francisco. In 2018, she was a Lambda Literary Emerging LGBTQ Voices Fellow, and their short-form fiction has appeared in journals such as Portland Review, Exposition Review, Emerson Review, and Lambda Literary’s Emerge magazine.

Currently, Kate works at Frameline, the San Francisco International LGBTQ+ Film Festival, and has previously contributed writing to other festivals, including SFFILM Festival (San Francisco International Film Festival) and MVFF (Mill Valley Film Festival).
